Description: Rare Paul Waner autographed handwritten letter c.1940s. Scarce handwritten letter from the legendary Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Famer is one of very few which we have encountered. (2) Page letter on "El Comodoro Hotel" statione\ry appears to have been written during Waner's post playing days and reads in part, "...The club was sold yesterday for 35 thousand - I didn't bid on the rest of the stock...I may even sell my interest. Several baseball jobs have come up but I would most like to come to p'g'h' as Coach...I hope to be there with the Pirates again." Signed at the close "Paul Waner" in period fountain pen rating 8/9 out of 10. Light age toning and very minor edge wear with typical mailing folds. Includes auction LOA from JSA: EX/MT
