Description: Scarce 1908 Chicago Cubs World Champions pendant presented to team executive Charles Williams. The 1908 Chicago Cubs enjoyed a spectacular season which culminated in their second consecutive World Series Championship under the leadership of player/Manager Frank Chance. It was their third straight National League Championship and the second year in a row that they defeated Ty Cobb and the Detroit Tigers to win the Series. The legendary trio of Tinker, Evers, and Chance were backed up by a pitching staff which included Three Finger Brown and the cumulative effort won (99) games edging out the Pirates and Giants in the final days of the regular season. The offered pendant was presented to long time Cubs executive Charles G. Williams. It features a center stone set within a baseball diamond surrounded by "World's Champions 1908" in relief and Garland style decoration around the edge. Engraved on the back, "Chas. G Williams" and marked "F.H.CO." Chain is marked "14K." Early Championship jewelry is exceedingly rare with this being among the finest pieces of the category which we have handled.
