Description: Fine Pittsburgh Pirates Imperial sized team cabinet photograph c.1891-92. Important 12.25"x16.25" period photograph mounted to original 12.5"x18.5" backing pictures (16) players and Manager Al Buckenberger. Early player identification is exceedingly difficult however we can state with certainty that among those included are Connie Mack and Jake Beckley. Image itself retains fine contrast and is housed within a frame which allows for viewing of a central 10"x16" portion. This area has slightly faded due to light exposure. Otherwise, there is (1) minute scuff over the player seated to far right and other minor scattered surface wear. An approximately 2" tear (taped on back) begins at upper edge of cabinet and extends into view within frame. Balance of the photograph exhibits more distinct tonality. Original mount shows age toning/soiling and edge wear with left hand corner chipping. Several areas of evident water damage are confined to the non-visible portion of mount when in frame. Despite noted condition issues, the photographic portion remains in exceptionally well preserved condition and displays at roughly the EX-EX/MT level.
