Description: Satchel Paige and Bill Veeck autographed baseball. In 1948, Veeck signed Satchel Paige to a contract making him the oldest Rookie in history and introducing the Major Leagues to one of the Negro Leagues' greatest talents. "Official League" RPB-3 baseball has been signed on the side panel, "To Richard McKelvey, With every good wish, Bill Veeck" and dated "July 7, 1948" (a reference to the date which he signed Paige, the ball was later). The opposite panel has been in ink, "Best Wishes from, Satchel Paige." Signatures rate 8/9 out of 10. Ball is very well preserved with almost no wear or toning worthy of note.
