Description: Fine Babe Ruth single signed baseball with possible attribution to June 13, 1948 "Babe Ruth Day" at Yankee Stadium. Lightly clear coated cream color Harridge AL ball is signed across the sweet spot by Ruth in blue fountain pen rating 8/9 out of 10. The ball itself displays period black ink dating of "June 13, 1948" and "August 16, 1948" on respective side panels. Based on the consignor history, period ink dating on the ball, and the dating of the ball stamping, it is believed that the offered exemplar was signed on the date of Babe Ruth's famed final appearance at Yankee Stadium when he addressed his adoring Yankees fans. The additional period black ink date of "Aug. 16, 1948" was later written on the ball to denote the date of Ruth's passing. Very high grade Babe Ruth single signed ball with desirable attribution to one of the more notable moments of the great slugger's life.
