Description: Exceptionally rare Charles Comiskey autographed large format photograph c.1920s. 7"x11.5" sepia tone photograph of the fabled Hall of Fame owner of the Chicago White Sox has been signed on the front, "Chas. A. Comiskey." Black fountain pen signature rates strong 8 to 9 out of 10 with additional inscription added in unknown hand. Image exhibits light silvering with series of horizontal cracks throughout. Mounted to heavy stock backing board. Comiskey signed images are of noted rarity with only a scant few having surfaced. His early death in 1931, compounded by a time period in which he was known to have all but stopped signing his name, (long time assistant Harry Grabner took over the responsibility) has resulted in not one confirmed sale which could be referenced.
