Drafted out of Penn State in 1971, he earned a starting position with the Steelers during his 1972 Rookie season. Displaying unmatched quickness and an intuitive sense of the game he solidified himself as a feared on field opponent and team leader. He remains one of the greatest linebackers in NFL history having been selected to their 1970s All-Decade team and the 75th Anniversary All-Time team. The offered black dureen jersey is of noted rarity, no previous examples have been sold that we can confirm. The added link to the Steelers fabled Championship season places it squarely in the category of "museum quality." Proper "Sandknit" manufacturer's tags on front tail including "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the Pittsburgh Steelers" tag and size "50." Next to this is the -78+ year tag.
