Lot Number: 237

Description: 1975 Cincinnati Reds World Series ring. Original 14K gold ring presented to groundskeeper Lubie Veal features center (40) pt. diamond set against the franchise color red background. "Cincinnati Reds 1975" is lettered around the edge with "World Champions" interestingly positioned on the inward slope toward red stone. On the right shank is a relief of Riverfront Stadium with "The Big Red Machine" block lettered inside and a team logo below. Name "Veal" appears above. Left shank has relief of the World Series Trophy as presented to the winning team each year with "Reds 4, Red Sox 3" below. The interior band has been stamped "LGB 14K." Size 12. Clearly a piece which inspired much pride in its owner, the ring has been well worn and exhibits wear throughout. Most of the once sharp/crisp edges are worn down particularly on and around the upper face lettering. One of the most desirable of all 1970s issued rings with direct link to the fabled "Big Red Machine": VG/EX
