Description: Vintage New York Yankees traveling trunk. Substantive wooden trunk with riveted metal trim measures 44" long x 26.5" deep x 22" tall. Several layers of paint have been applied over the life of the trunk which currently displays a well worn black surface with red/white/blue striping. "New York Yankees" has been stenciled on either end and the number "9" appears twice on the lid. Left side retains portions of the original leather strap handle, right side has metal handle replacement. Center latch on front is intact but no longer locks. "Priesmeyer Bros. Trunk Co." manufacturer's tag on lid. Few Yankees trunks from this era have surfaced and the only other example we were able to locate is nearly identical with regard to appearance, paint scheme, stenciled lettering, and even has the same replacement handle. Definitive dating is nearly impossible but we are confident in saying c.1960s and in all likelihood it was in use sometime during the 1950s: EXEstimated Price Range: ($3,000-$5,000)
