Description: 1949 Rocky Marciano handwritten and signed letter to his wife with related photograph. Fascinating (2) page handwritten letter from Marciano to his wife Barbara less than a year after beginning his professional career while training for his March 21st fight vs. Johnny Pretzie. He writes in part, "How's my girl been spending her time since I left...yesterday I went 4 fast rds of boxing this week I should get around 30...my timing is good already." Signed at the close, "Rocky" in pencil rating 8 out of 10. Exhibits light age toning throughout with typical fold lines from mailing. The second page has had the upper portion trimmed off (presumably by Marciano) and no content appears missing. Includes original mailing envelope addressed in his hand and c.1950s 7"x9.25" black and white photo of Rocky in front of an airplane named "Barbara" (mounted to backing).
