Wooden plaque backing with affixed metal placard designed to give the appearance of a hanging scroll has been engraved in part, "Earl Weaver, Baltimore Orioles, Manager of the Year 1969, Guided Team To 109-53 Mark, Best in Major League and Two Short of American League Win Record...Presented by The Maryland Professional Baseball Players Association, Tops in Sports Banquet, January 9, 1970." Exhibits very light scattered wear and loss to metal surface. Very fine and important award piece with relation to one of the finest managers of the era.
