Description: Fine 1938 Jimmie Dykes Chicago White Sox professional model home jersey. Cream color flannel jersey displays its original "Sox" interlocked lettering across the front with "5" on the reverse. "Dykes" chain stitched into the collar area above the Spalding label with size 44 flag tag. Small "38" chain stitched in red onto the bottom of the tail area denoting the year designation. General condition remains very fine with evident use while retaining its original color in the piping and lettering. Some minor staining spots are present in the collar area along with some typical fraying to the back of the neck and slight damage to the very bottom of the zipper path. Dykes was a noted Major League player for many years with the Philadelphia Athletics and Chicago White Sox before serving as the Sox manager during the 1930s era.
