Lot Number: 120

Description: Chicago White Sox professional model road jersey c.1942-46. Grey flannel jersey retains its original "Chicago" blue on red lettering across the front with "36" on the reverse. Goldsmith manufacturing label remains affixed to the interior collar with desirable "stars and bars" shield shaped patch on the left sleeve. The jersey presents in very fine original condition with a custom shortened hem along the bottom of the back of the shirt of approximately 5" in length which appears to have been done in the period. Several players wore the #36 for the White Sox during the date range of the jersey including Leo Wells (1942), Frank Kallin (1943), Johnny Dickshot (1944-1945), and Bob Kennedy (1946). Rare and desirable period flannel in outstanding general condition. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions: EX
