Description: April 17, 1951 Phillies vs. Dodgers Opening Day at Ebbets Field game-used baseball. Used during game which marked the first of the National League's 75th Anniversary season for each club. Roberts pitched a complete (9) innings for his first win of the year. Spalding W.Giles ONL baseball has been notated -Phillies vs. Dodgers" on the sweetspot in period blue fountain pen. Next to each team name is written the game score. Vestiges of a large faded block letter -1" are visible on the panel below (covered in shellac). Evident usage wear, toning, and areas of light surface loss throughout. Light possible water damage.
