Lot Number: 254

Description: Robin Roberts 2008 MLB All-Star Game presentational items. The 2008 MLB All-Star Game ranks as one of the most anticipated in the history of the game. It would mark the final game of its type to be played in the historic Yankee Stadium as the team prepared to move into its new ballpark for the 2009 season. As such, Major League Baseball presented a showcase of Hall of Fame members to take part in the historic pre game festivities. Robin Roberts was part of the celebration and received several items to commemorate his appearance: Matted and framed Hall of Famer autographed invitation signed by (47) players to include Aaron, Roberts, Schmidt, Jackson, Ripken Jr., Brett, Feller, Killebrew, Murray, Carlton, Banks, Gwynn, B.Robinson, F.Robinson, Berra, Ford, and McCovey. 10"x14" handsomely matted in a polished steel frame with MLB Authentication hologram at the bottom; Decorative star shaped place holder which was used during the on field ceremony at Yankee Stadium (22" tall); Panoramic photograph of the Hall of Famers in attendance at the game (8"x20"). Very significant presentational piece with an extremely limited production amount as related to an un-equaled All-Star game event. The lot includes the original letter sent by Major League Baseball to Roberts, LOA from JSA, and letter of provenance from the Roberts family: NM
