Very fine quality mahogany plaque as presented to Roberts in 1962 for the player who most exemplified the character of Lou Gehrig both on and off the field. The plaque itself measures 17" tall with applied bronze bust of Gehrig along with several inscribed placards including -1962 Robin Roberts Baltimore Orioles". The plaque retains its original L.G. Balfour & Co. metal label on the verso and is accompanied by a period 8"x10" image of Roberts receiving the plaque.
