Description: Historic 1947 Philadelphia Phillies letter as sent to Robin Roberts. Poignant handwritten letter on Phillies stationery dated September 25, 1947 as sent by Chuck Ward to Roberts. Insightful content relates to Roberts wish to keep his pending signing with the team very quiet during the winter months so as not to interfere with his eligibility. The final sentence of the letter reads, -All I ask (is) be careful this winter as you have your entire future at stake." Signed by Ward at the bottom. The letter exhibits some age and handling wear including a few tiny holes and some toning. The letter is accompanied by a Phillies business card for Chuck Ward. Includes letter of provenance from the Roberts family: EX
