Description: Fine Babe Ruth single signed baseball c.1948. Clear coated and moderately toned F.Frick NL baseball signed across the sweetspot in black ink. Signature presents nicely rating 7 out of 10. During spring training in 1948 Babe Ruth paid a visit to the Phillies camp to meet with Phillies coaches Benny Bengough and Cy Perkins whom he had played with during their careers. Ruth posed for photographs and signed baseballs for the Phillies players including a young Robin Roberts who had Ruth autograph the offered baseball so as to give to his mother. The ball has remained within the Roberts family until its current offering and is one of only a scant few Ruth single signed baseballs which can be directly traced as having been signed to another Hall of Fame member.
