Description: Rare Richie Ashburn professional model baseball bat c.1950-60. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat measures 33" long and weighs 32.8oz. Evident usage characteristics visible throughout including ball marks, cleat marks, and a hint of grain separation on the back of the barrel. A handle crack has been expertly repaired and is only visible under the closest scrutiny. Model number M159 is stamped on the knob end. Ashburn game bats are notably rare and desirable with very few examples having entered the marketplace. In nearly (20) years, this is only the second example we have brought to auction.
