Description: Al Simmons professional model baseball bat with Charles Gehringer side writing c.1936. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat measures 35.75" long and weighs 33.7oz. The bat displays beautifully with evident use including ball marks, stitching impressions, cleat marks, grain swelling, and light handle crack. Light brown color bat display Hillerich & Bradsby factory side writing on side panel, "33oz. Chas. Gehringer 4-28-37". This identical bat matches Louisville Slugger factory records as having been returned by Gehringer in 1937. Simmons and Gehringer played together for only one season, 1936, offering the aforementioned dating period. "C.Gehringer 4-26-37" also neatly printed in period ink on side of barrel. Very fine HOFer game bat with desirable side written characteristic.
