Description: Rare Joe "Ducky" Medwick All-America Board of Baseball sweater c.1937. Blue wool sweater as worn by HOF'er Ducky Medwick in participation of the All-America Board of Baseball conducted by Christy Walsh. The sweater retains its original applied patch on the front with baseball decor. "Catalina, Los Angeles" manufacturer's tag found inside the collar. The sweater itself remains in very fine overall condition showing appropriate light use. Players for this exclusive board were selected each season by sportswriters who themselves had been nominated to do so by Babe Ruth. Winners were typically awarded certificates and offered sweaters at each season's World Series. Attractive period uniform piece with relation to Hall of Famer and Gashouse Gang member Joe Medwick.
