Description: Exceptional 1875 presentation baseball bat. Beautiful and substantive hand turned baseball bat with small termination style knob measures 37.5" in length and weighs 56 ounces. Ornately detailed silver plated placard affixed at center is inscribed "Presented by G.A.R. at Hamilton Park, Friday Sept. 10 1875 to the Star B.B.C." with relevant game score of "Stars...14" and "Madisons...9" flanking either side at bottom. Deep mahogany finish exhibits surface wear/scuffing throughout although a very minimal amount breaks through to reveal natural wood color. Placard has several minor scattered flaws and remains firmly affixed. Period ribbon tied on at knob end. Overall, the bat remains in a fine state of preservation and offers fine display qualities: EXEstimated Price Range: ($4,000-$5,000)
