Description: "Our Baseball Heroes" color lithographic print. Classic 19th century engraving of (12) star players from the National League teams including Anson, Mack, Ewing, Robinson, and Davis. Vignette images surround a beautiful color lithographic game scene in center, marked "Supplement to the Police Gazette June 1, 1895 Richard K. Fox, Propr." at top right. This particular example retains stunning original color with some light age toning to the bottom left corner area. The print itself has been laid down on thin stock acid free paper for conservation purposes with a repair to a horizontal crease (5" long) at the top left and a tiny hole at the right border area. Overall size is 15 3/4"x19 3/4" matted and framed with some minor trimming to the edges (not visible under the matting) inclusive to the printed titling at top right corner.
