Group of documents associated with DiMaggio's employment as a television announcer for the Yankees' pre-game and post-game telecasts includes: Dec. 13, 1951 typewritten letter of intent signed by DiMaggio and Yankees Vice President George Weiss; Dec. 13, 1951 typewritten letter on Yankees stationary regarding DiMaggio's veto approval on tobacco company advertisements during his show signed by George Weiss; and several typewritten documents relating to the proposed contract between Joe and the Yankees. Rare vintage signed documents relating to the inception of Joe's post playing career life. Originally offered as part of the Joe DiMaggio collection.
