Description: 1956 Stan Musial St. Louis Cardinals home jersey. Very rare one year style Cardinals jersey displays the team name scripted in red on blue felt across the front with #6 on the reverse. Embroidered Cardinals "Batting Bird" logo appears on left sleeve with Rawlings mfg. tag on the tail front with size 44 tag. "Musial 56" is chain stitched in red also onto the tail front. Interior front tail reveals a dry clean tag along with "Set 1 1956" flag tag. The jersey remains in outstanding all original condition exhibiting fine general use while retaining a pleasing visual appearance. It appears to have been laundered, resulting in slight fading to the chain stitch and Batting Bird logo. Musial's name ranks among those who transcend the game of baseball, having retired an American legend after a storied 20+ year career. A twenty time All-Star, he was a model of consistency winning (3) National League Most Valuable Player Awards and finishing within the Top 10 of voting (13) times. "The Man" remains perhaps the greatest St. Louis player of all-time with uniform number "6" fittingly retired. The offered jersey dates to the prime of his remarkable career.
