Description: Collection of vintage scrapbooks from the personal collection of Mickey Vernon c.1930-50s. Includes (5) period scrapbooks, one of which chronicles Mickey Vernon's baseball career from its earliest days in the 1930s. The 1930s book includes photos, Mickey Vernon Day ticket stub, articles, and general ephemera including a pair of 1933 World Series ticket stubs. Vernon would often recount the events that led him and a friend to Griffith Stadium in 1933 to see the World Series as a very influential moment in his life. The other four scrapbooks relate to a Tour of Japan and have custom made embroidered covers with "Vernon" impressed in gold lettering.
