Description: Rare 2001 Tony Cloninger New York Yankees American League Championship ring. Substantial ring issued in commemoration of the New York Yankees American League Championship features the stylized Top-Hat logo with script team name across the front. The background is comprised of diamonds with colored stones inset in the hat logo. "American League Champions Yankees" lettering appears along the sides and top of the bezel. The left shank features the recipient's name "Cloninger" above the interlocking "NY" logo and an American flag in relief. The opposite shank features a baseball with the year "2001" above and "Tradition" below. Stamping inside the band reads "Balfour" and "14k". Cloninger's name is engraved on the inside band as well. The ring shows little wear, if any, and comes in a Balfour box. 2001 New York Yankees AL Championship rings are among the most desired and rarely offered of any from the Yankees dynasty period of the late 1990s and early 2000s. The offered example is being sold for the first time publicly with note to its provenance as having been presented to a notable Yankee player and coach.
