Lot Number: 400

Description: Rare 1978 Pete Rose Cincinnati Reds St. Patrick's Day professional model jersey. Home white knit jersey with unique green trim was fashioned by the team to celebrate St. Patrick's Day during a 1978 pre-season game. Retains its original "14" and Reds logo patch on the front with "Rose" and 14 on the reverse. Special commemorative clover patch is affixed to the left sleeve. Rawlings mfg. tag with "Set 1 1978" flag tag is found inside the tail front. The jersey itself has some overall age toning and a large horizontal tear to the back neck area along the stitching from dryness to the fabric. This tear could certainly be repaired but was left to preserve originality. The shirt shows appropriate light general use and wash wear and has been signed across the front by Rose in black sharpie. Notably rare and desirable jersey style worn by the Reds in 1978 and then subsequently sold by the team when the respective player would leave the franchise. Includes LOAs from Hunt Auctions (jersey) and JSA (autograph): EX with note to tear on the back as would denote a condition grade of PR-GD)

Estimated Price Range: ($2,500-$3,500)
