Description: Rare 1975 Fred Lynn Boston Red Sox road uniform. Very desirable grey knit jersey was worn by Lynn during his historic 1975 rookie campaign in which he won the AL MVP award, Rookie of the Year award, and finished second in the AL batting title race. Jersey retains its original "Red Sox" lettering across the front with #19 on the back. McAuliffe mfg. tagging remains affixed to the tail front along with individual "1975" year tag, "44" size tag, and "Wash Instructions" tag. The shirt exhibits superb usage including soiling and areas of surface 'pilling'. Pair of matching Red Sox road pants are included retaining their original McAuliffe tagging inside the waistband with "1975" year tag. The pants show similar soiling and general wear. Lynn is recognized as one of the most consistent players of the last half century, eclipsing the 20 home run mark in ten of his 17 seasons and ending with a career total of over 300. He also appeared in nine All-Star games and hit the only grand slam home run in the history of the Mid Summer Classic. Along with fellow rookie Jim Rice, Fred Lynn would lead the 1975 Red Sox to the World Series in what easily ranks as one of the greatest rookie campaigns in baseball history.
