Description: Ty Cobb autographed Cobb Memorial Hospital announcement brochure c.1950. Foldout brochure measuring 9"x12" (unfolded) was issued to announce the construction of "Cobb Memorial Hospital" in Royston, GA, which was founded with a $100,000 donation from Ty Cobb in memory of his parents, Herschel and Amanda Cobb. The piece itself pictures the original sketch of the hospital and includes "Cobb Memorial Hospital" titling. Signed on the verso, "To Al Freeman From his Friend Ty Cobb" in blue fountain pen. Signature remains very bold rating 10 out of 10. Cobb's mother had fatally shot his father in a tragic accident in 1905, which, according to Cobb, forever changed his temperament. Unique and interesting Cobb signed item is one of only two signed examples (the other is within this auction) that we have encountered.
