Description:Baseball decorated trophy c.1914. Large bulbous form two handled trophy standing 11" tall and measuring 11" wide at the handles features an engraved baseball game scene wrapping around the front half of the trophy. Inscribed as being "Presented by Mayor Hershfield of Pompton Lakes to the winner of the Baseball Game Pompton Lakes League Team vs. General Kearny Council #261 J-O-U-A-M Sept. 7, 1914." Henry Hershfield was a prominent civic leader in the Pompton Lakes area of New Jersey, and a baseball field which is still in use was named in his honor. Marked "Rogers Bros." on bottom.
