Description: Curt Flood's 1987 NAACP Jackie Robinson Sports Award and related items. The NAACP's Jackie Robinson Sports Award was issued annually to "recognize an individual whose endeavors outside of their respective sports field display a positive Black image." Flood received the offered trophy as the award recipient in 1987. The 14" tall trophy features a cast metal figure holding a globe atop a two-tiered base. An engraved metal band encircling the bottom reads "20th Annual NAACP Image Awards 1987 Jackie Robinson Sports Award Curt Flood." Accompanying the trophy is an original program from the awards presentation ceremony, a ticket to a corresponding dinner, and a letter of notification to Flood from the NAACP.
