Description: 1956 Adventure Gum set including Max Schmeling #86. Scarce 100 card series includes a diverse representation of sport and nonsport subjects, with an emphasis on famous boxing champions such as Jack Johnson, Joe Louis and Rocky Marciano. Another popular card from the series features Red Sox player and multi-sport star Harry Agganis who died tragically in 1955. The rare and controversial Max Schmeling #86 card is believed to have been pulled from production due to the swastika which appears in the background. The offered set has a fresh, uncirculated appearance, grading mostly NM-NM/MT. The Max Schmeling #86 card is graded SGC 88 NM-MT.
