Description: Unique "Louisville Herald" baseball folk art display piece c.1920-30s. Oversized 25"x46" hand painted canvas display banner advertises baseball coverage in the Louisville Herald newspaper. The display includes a scoring area at the bottom portion where the daily box score could be written in chalk by the purveyor. Display qualities are very fine with original surface remaining in place with age crazing to the paint. The bottom margin of the piece shows some losses and flaking likely from its original display, but contributes to its primitive eye appeal.
