Description: Hall of Famer autographed baseball including Christy Mathewson. Toned, and likely game used, Official National League baseball was signed by (16) players including some of the greatest in baseball history. Signatures include Christy Mathewson, Babe Ruth, Chief Bender, Jimmie Foxx, Tris Speaker, and Lefty Grove. John McGraw and Al Simmons were partially enhanced at some point. Signatures range from 3 to 8 out of 10 with Mathewson remaining quite bold grading 7 out of 10. John McGraw added a date of 1919 underneath his autograph, which, coupled with the range of player career dating, indicates the signatures were added over a period of time. The very presence of Mathewson's signature on a baseball is of considerable note, with the offered example a likely unique surviving specimen bearing both Ruth and Mathewson.
