Description: ***UPDATED DESCRIPTION: 1981 Joe Torre New York Mets professional model road jersey. Grey knit jersey displays "Mets" team name across the front with #9 beneath. Back of the shirt has "Torre" nameplate affixed to the top along with #9 underneath. Rawlings mfg. label is found inside the collar area with "42 81" size/year strip tag at bottom of tail front (NOTE: It is worthy to note that this tagging formation is different from several other documented Mets jerseys of the era). Signed across the front by Torre in black sharpie. 1981 marked the end of Torre's first managerial post with the Mets. He would go on to lead the Braves, Cardinals, and eventually the New York Yankees until 2007. The jersey exhibits appropriate use and wash wear remaining in its original as issued state.
