Description: Exceptional Ted Williams professional model baseball bat c.1947-48. Absolutely stunning exemplar of a Louisville Slugger 125 model bat used by HOF'er Ted Williams. The bat measures 34 3/4" long and weighs 37.2oz. Exhibits indicative game use including extensive ball marks, stitching impressions, appropriate grain swelling, partially "scored' handle, and vestiges of green rack marks. Model #W148 is stamped on knob end along with a bold vintage "9" written in black 'india' ink. A faded "9" is slightly visible on the end of the barrel as well. Ted Williams is regarded by most as the finest pure hitter in the history of the game. Williams game bats of this quality with heavy use and uniform numeral on the knob end are exceedingly rare and highly desired.
