Description: 1922 and 1923 World Series press passes. Rare press passes were issued for the consecutive World Series match-ups between the New York Giants and New York Yankees. The 1922 pass was issued for the Polo Grounds, the shared venue for both teams and the sole location for each of the five games in the series (the Giants prevailed 4 games to 2). The 1923 pass was issued for both the Polo Grounds and the Yankees newly constructed home, Yankee Stadium. In the 1923 World Series, the Yankees beat the Giants in six games. This would be the first of the Yankees' twenty six World Series championships. Both passes have name of bearer written on front and punch holes for each game utilized. The 1922 pass has creasing and two areas of paper loss on front. The 1923 pass has light creasing and adhesive staining on back from scrapbook removal: GD and VG respectively
