Description: Curt Flood's Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame plaque, acceptance speech and related articles. Having grown up in Oakland, California and played his first organized baseball in and around the Bay Area, Flood was honored by induction into the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame in 1995. Flood's 15"x20" induction plaque features a metal cameo portrait of him in relief and metal placard praising Flood as "Free Agency's Founding Father". Lot includes Flood's poignant three-page typewritten acceptance speech with extensive edits in Flood's own hand. Also included is a program from the induction ceremony on February 15, 1995 and a photo of Flood and Vada Pinson in front of Flood's plaque inside the Hall of Fame.
