Description: Fine "Box Seats" stadium sign from Shibe Park c.1930s. Double sided painted cast iron display sign as once displayed at Philadelphia's Shibe Park advertising "Box Seats" for $2.75. The sign measures 18"x36" retaining a wonderful original patination to its painted surface on both sides. Shibe Park (Connie Mack Stadium) was demolished in 1976 at which point the offered sign was found within a storage closet as the stadium. The exterior perimeter of the sign has some small mounting holes and the paint exhibits appropriate age crazing/chipping all of which enhance the desirable primitive eye appeal of the piece.
