Lot Number: 532

Description: 1975 Tommy John Los Angeles Dodgers professional model road jersey. Grey knit jersey features original blue team name on front and red number "25" on left breast. Back has last name "John" and number "25" stitched on in blue. W.A. Goodman & Sons manufacturer's tag stitched inside collar notes size "44". A grey strip tag remains on tail front reading "Set 1 '75" in blue embroidered lettering. Jersey exhibits evident usage and wash wear incl. a few light grass stains likely attributed to use during the 1976 season. During his 1974 season, John permanently damaged the ulnar collateral ligament in his pitching arm, and a miraculous revolutionary surgical operation was performed. The operation, widely known today as Tommy John surgery, was performed by Dr. Frank Jobe on Sept. 25, 1974. John spent the entire 1975 season recovering from the surgery, and surprised fans and players alike by returning to the Dodgers rotation in 1976. Completely original and unaltered.
