Description: 1994 Lefty Gomez Award presented to Sam Suplizio. Sam Suplizio, a one-time prospect in the New York Yankees farm system, rose to help bring Major League baseball to Colorado and made the National Junior College World Series a community institution on the Western Slope. Also a coach for the Anaheim Angels for a time, Suplizio was on the field at Camden Yards the night of Sept. 6, 1995, when Cal Ripken broke Lou Gehrig's streak of 2,130 consecutive starts. This 16 1/4" tall trophy representing the Lefty Gomez Award was presented to Suplizio in 1994 "For His Outstanding Contributions and Distinguished Service To College Baseball".
