Each of these medium toned and soiled official Budig AL (3) or Coleman NL (2) balls was smacked for a base hit by Boggs in 1999 as he approached the 3,000 hit plateau. Each bears Wade Boggs' signature across the sweet spot and adjacent inscriptions including: "Hit #2981 7/10/99", "Hit #2982 7/11/99", "Hit #2983 7/16/99", "Hit #2985 7/17/99" and "Hit #2996 8/3/99".
