Description: 1952 Joe Collins New York Yankees home jersey. Pinstriped white home jersey displays an "NY" logo on the front with #15 on the reverse. The 15 is a period number change executed when the shirt was sent to the Minor Leagues. For display purposes, the number is appropriate given the fact that Collins wore #15 from 1953-57 with the Yankees. The "NY" emblem on the front is a period application by the team which appears to have been added over top of an earlier NY style patch. The earlier patch was slightly larger, but the current NY does appear to be original to this particular shirt in 1952. "Collins" is chain stitched onto a strip tag inside the collar, and Wilson mfg. tag is affixed to the tail front along with '44" size flag tag and dry clean tag (faded). "1952" is chain stitched onto the tail front as well. The jersey shows heavy usage including surface pilling, wash wear, a tear on the back of the shirt, and several period team repairs to the interior of the tail front area.
