Lot Number: 195

Description: Ben Chapman's 1933 All-Star 50th Anniversary ring. 10k gold ring was issued to Ben Chapman in 1983 during the 50th Anniversary celebration of Major League Baseball's first All-Star game. Though he played for the powerful longball-hitting Yankees teams of the 1930s before bouncing around with six other teams in both leagues, Chapman was known as a fierce base runner with skills to scratch out runs. The outfielder led the American League in steals four times and was selected to play for the American League All-Stars in 1933. The gold ring has a purple colored stone inset at the center with the words "All Star 1933" on the left shank and a baseball flag logo above the word "Baseball" on the opposite shank. Chapman's initials "BC" are engraved inside the band. Ring shows minimal wear. Size 10.5: EX/MT-NM
