Description: Scarce Eddie Collins professional model baseball bat with Hillerich & Bradsby Co. factory label c.1920s. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat measures 35" long and weighs 33oz. The bat displays heavy use including ball marks, defined stitching impressions, period handle crack, pine tar residue, portions of a vintage return shipping label as sent back to the Hillerich & Bradsby Co., and (7) metal "studs" which once held a paperboard shipping label (vestiges of label remain under studs, studs were left for originality but could be easily removed/restored if so desired). Both the Louisville Slugger mfg. stampings and Eddie Collins facsimile signature remain very strong. Collins is one of the most elusive game bats of the 3,000 hit club to obtain with a scant few documented exemplars having surfaced. The offered bat remains in a stunning state of originality and as such must be considered one of, if not the, finest Eddie Collins game bats extant.
