Description: 1995 Babe Ruth "The Babe" serigraph by LeRoy Neiman. Framed 18"x23 5/8" color serigraph depicts baseball's most legendary figure based on the original abstract painting by noted artist LeRoy Neiman. Numbered "137/285" from the edition of 285. Serigraph is signed by artist LeRoy Neiman at the bottom margin in pencil rating 10 out of 10. Ruth is deftly captured in a characteristic home run pose, watching a ball sail off his bat and over the outfield wall. Although Neiman prides himself on normally working from life, for this work he searched the photographic archives for an image that was both instantly recognizable and expressive of character. It is a fitting perspective of the most prolific baseball players of all time, from one of today's premiere sports artists. Archivally matted and framed.
