Description: Mickey Mantle World Series Home Run ticket display piece with autographed photograph. Handsome 43 1/2"x45" matted and framed display piece features an impressive arrangement of original ticket stubs from Mickey Mantle's World Series home runs. In 1932, Babe Ruth set a record of 15 career home runs hit in World Series play, a mark many thought would never be broken. That was, until a young blond haired player from Commerce, OK burst onto the scene in 1951. Mickey Charles Mantle would finish his career with an unbelievable of 18 home runs in World Series play. Sandy Koufax, Bob Gibson, Sal Maglie, and Curt Simmons were all victims of Mantle's thunderous batting. The offered display contains (16) original World Series ticket stubs corresponding to Mantle's home runs. Notables include: 1956 Game #5 (Don Larsen's perfect game), 1958 Game #2 (Mantle hits two home runs), 1960 Game #2 (Mantle hits two home runs), and 1963 Game #4 (Mantle hits record tying home run off of Sandy Koufax). The majority of the stubs grade EX or better: Range VG-NM. The display also includes a collage of (19) Topps Finest Mickey Mantle retro cards: Range NM-MT. Center image is a 14"x21" UDA portrait of Mantle by noted photographer Neil Leifer. The photo is signed by Mantle and Leifer in black sharpie in the bottom margin and os numbered "135/500": NM. Very substantive display piece with extensive breakdown value. Includes LOA's from UDA and JSA pertaining to the autograph.
