Description: 1978 Bucky Dent New York Yankees professional model home jersey - World Series Championship season with Possible World Series Attribution. Pinstriped jersey has the famed “NY” logo on left front and number “20” on back. In the collar is a “Dent” embroidered strip tag. An additional strip tag on the front tail reads “78 1” (year and set number) and is below a Wilson tag (size 42). A black armband on left sleeve suggests that it was reused the following season and would have been applied in honor of Thurman Munson in August of 1979. Jersey displays use and wash wear and has some additional soiling/discoloration likely due to storage after use. The offered jersey was submitted for formal photo matching authentication and was deemed inconclusive due to other 1978 regular season shirts having similar characteristics. We can confirm that the shirt compares favorably to images taken during the 1978 World Series. Highly desirable game jersey dating to Dent’s iconic 1978 season being offered publicly for the first time. Includes LOA from Hunt Auctions (Jersey) and letter of provenance from Bucky Dent.
