Description: 1978 Bucky Dent World Series "Babe Ruth Award" as Most Outstanding Player. Black finished oval wooden plaque has a metal plate affixed to the front with crossed bats and baseball décor. "The Babe Ruth Award" titling is impressed at the top with additional text reading "To The Most Outstanding Player of the 1978 World Series…Bucky Dent New York Yankees...Presented by the New York Chapter, Baseball Writers Association of America." The piece is 13.5" tall displaying a hint of light scattered wear and some very minor tarnish. "Herff Jones" label on the back. Created in honor of Babe Ruth and first presented in 1949, the tradition of the BBWAA voting on their post-season MVP continues through present day.
